Quietude - Devlog 1


Hi
I am Rahad. The lead in-engine developer for 403 Forbidden's Quietude title.

Quietude offers a narrative driven experience backed by cultist activities, the narrative is primarily told by environmental storytelling and collectibles found throughout the game.

Quietude is a realistic psychological horror project that I, and 2 other fellow artists have been working on for the last 3 weeks. We have just left Pre-Production and are going into mainline production following the end of 7th June 2024. 

So far we have ideated our ideas for the project and have solidified a realistic art style with a color palette in mind. We initially attempted to go stylized but due to the availability of resources and taking time management into consideration, we decided to pivot to a realistic art style. Fortunately, we were able to transition with ease as this was the pre-production phase and nothing was set in stone.

So far, the artists have made thumbnails, sketches for cult sigils, sketches for assets and items in the game. I have created an engine blockout with textures and borrowed assets as well as an extensive product backlog on Jira.
